After 108 years - lights???

Well, believe it or not after 108 years Edgewood Plantation has lights underneath the house. You can see the picture on FB. It looks really neat. Today lighting has been installed thru out the attic.( known as the bat cave) Hopefully, this will get rid of the rest of the bats as well. We have started wiring our area of the house masterbath, laundry, etc. Moving right along.

Dirt, holes and more digging>>>>>>

Today Pat has spent the day digging up the yard on the side of the house and back. He has it all dug up for the sewer, electric and water; he will put the plastic pipe in tommorow and yard will look normal again. Claiborne Electric did there part today, now we have a new electric pole. Moving right along.

Backside

Backside of house is completely roughed in now. Getting ready to put windows in this next week. Sewage line was dug this past week and is now ready for plumber to put sewage tank in. Pat works everyday from daylight to dark. He is truly a master carpenter. His work is amazing, everyone that seen it during the pre-renovation tour is certainly going to be surprised when they see it at the grand opening.

Bats

Well, we kept hearing these little sounds behind wall paper in one of the rooms today; so Pat tears down the wallpaper and about 15 bats come flying out from behind it. Now that can make you pee in your pants.

Pre-Renovation Tour

Well, we were truly overwhelmed by the turnout, over 400 people showed up to tour. It was suppose to be from 10am to 2pm, but we were there until after 4pm still touring people. It was awesome. Everyone is so excited about it being restored. Ms. Cortez Hicks Lawrence who is 92 years old showed up and had made a booklet for us, her grandfather actually built the house for Mr. Baughman and it was amazing to listen to her stories about her grandfather "Preacher" Hicks when he was building the home for the Baughman's. Several people brought pictures and had stories to tell which is amazing. We truly appreciate every picture and piece of history we can find.

People Stopping By

Well, so far this week we have had people from Wisconsin, Canada, and Ohio stop by to talk and take pictures. Everyone states they love the house and can't wait to come back and stay. It is so much fun meeting and talking to everyone. Sounds like we are going to busy!!
